The Process

How It Works

  1. Complete the bill of sale

    Make it out from you, the seller, to me, the buyer, for the amount I tell you. It does not need to be notarized.

  2. I apply for a Tennessee title

    Filed in my name using your paperwork.

  3. Title arrives, I sign it over

    When the Tennessee title arrives in my name, I sign it over to you as the owner.

  4. I mail the title back to you

    Priority Mail with tracking, at no extra charge.

  5. You transfer it into your state

    Take the signed title to your own DMV and register it in your name.

Please message me the year, make, and model so I can tell you the sale price to use on the bill of sale. I also need a clear, legible photo of the motorcycle's VIN tag or stamped VIN.

For motorcycles 30 years old or older: 400cc or less is $250; over 400cc is $300. Newer motorcycles, up to around 2017 models, may be available for $350–$450 depending on the bike — contact Roger for a quote.
PayPal, Venmo, personal or business check, and cashier's check are preferred payment options; other options may be available. Turnaround is typically 2–3 weeks from start to title in your mailbox.

Are you actually buying my bike? +
No. The bill of sale is a paperwork step only. You keep the bike. I just need to be listed as the temporary owner so I can apply for the title in Tennessee — then I sign it right back to you.
Does this work no matter what state I'm in? +
Yes. I handle the Tennessee title on my end. Once you receive it, you do a normal out-of-state title transfer into your own state.
How long does this take? +
Typically 2–3 weeks from start to title in your mailbox. Titles are sent by Priority Mail with a tracking number.
Is this legal? +
Yes. I've been doing this for 17 years, and every single person I've helped has received their title.
Does my bike qualify? +
Motorcycles 30 years old or older qualify under the standard pricing. Newer bikes up to around 2017 may also qualify — contact me with the year, make, and model and I'll let you know and provide a quote.
How do I pay? +
